And one more topic about music for clarinet. I’m searching for the following compositions by Carl Gottlieb Reissiger, all for clarinet:

Concertino, op. 63
Duo Brillant for clarinet and piano, op. 130
Fantasie, op. 146
Second Fantasie, op. 180
Adagio und Rondo alla polacca, op. 214

Of these, the possible public domain editions that I can find are as follows:

Concertino, op.63: Heilbronn: C.F. Schmidt, [19--?]; though WorldCat doesn't give a more accurate date, Bernard Tuthill in a 1962 article for the Journal of Research in Music Education gives it a date of c.1885, and though he calls it a "Concerto", the opus number is still 63.

Fantasie, op.146: Braunschweig: H. Litolff's Verlag [between 1900 and 1950], and since that's not really good enough dates to ascertain copyright status, there is a Leipzig: Fr. Hofmeister, [1840?] edition. Also, WorldCat shows a Carl Fischer edition. Various sources give different dates: WorldCat says [196-?] and a reprint from the 80s.

The ICA (International Clarinet Association) archive has the Concertino in the Schmidt edition, and has the Fantasie in 2 editions: a Carl Fischer edition which they say is "c.1940", so perhaps even the 1960 edition was a reprint. More importantly, they have a Richault edition that I didn't find on WorldCat, but this is almost certainly public domain.

If you are a member of the ICA, you can get a copy of these, scan them, and upload them. ICA also will send you photocopies of anything that is public domain, though I've found that a photocopy of an old darkened copy is almost impossible to get a good scan of . . . . . :(
