Meyerbeer Operas

Post by vinteuil »

If anyone has FS of any of the following: Prophete, Africaine, Robert le Diable, Huguenots. Those would be fantastic.
Also, a VS of Africaine is a really good idea. Thanks,

I'd love to see them also, but those full score are difficult to come by.

I have been thinking of doing some full opera scores of Meyerbeer and perhaps Halevy as well, but my scanning is out of commission for a little while, I should get to them eventually though.

I believe it was Garland who published facsimiles of some of these operas. I have seen both Le Prophete and Les Huguenots on library shelves. These might be easier to track down than original prints. NB: Garland also seems to have done some big Rossini full scores, such as William Tell.

PS: There is a Meyerbeer fan club http://www.meyerbeer.com./ but its site has not been updated since last year.
